CELEBRATE ASIAN JOY
INSPIRING the AAPI community
to WALK TALL,
to PROUDLY and BOLDLY claim our JOY
"Celebrate Asian Joy" is an organization founded by Riza Takahashi that is committed to supporting and celebrating AAPI theatre artists, filmmakers, and musicians, to tell their stories through the arts.
The organization has recently produced a music video called “I Choose Joy” with a cast and creative team of AAPI artists and their allies and will continue to produce more AAPI driven productions in the future.

We’ve created this work in hopes of changing the narrative that has surrounded the Asian community during the pandemic - a narrative that has been defined by fearmongering and coverage of attacks on the Asian community. As we continue to raise awareness of racial injustice, we wanted to shine a light on how strong the Asian community is amidst the current climate and encourage everyone to Celebrate Asian Joy through arts.
Mean Girls performer Riza Takahashi is hosting a new interview series on Broadstream called Authentically You. The series sees Takahashi and her peers discussing and celebrating the intersection between their work and AAPI identity. The guest for episode one is Anastasia performer Kelli Youngman. Upcoming guests include Saki Masuda (The King and I), Jolina Javier (A Chorus Line), Kenway Kua (Wicked), and Darren Lee (History of War)
